1. How long is the Citizen’s Academy and when is it?

Classes are usually 2-3 hours long and scheduled one evening per week for 8 weeks.

2. How do people apply to attend the Citizen’s Academy?

Applications can be filled out and submitted at any time for the upcoming class. MPD will advertise in various ways to notify other prospective applicants. An application must be filled out and a minimal background investigation is completed prior to acceptance.

3. Is there a cost to attend?

Everyone has fun and it is all free!

5. How do I participate in the Ride-A-Long Program?

Prior to participating, an application must be filled out and a minimal background check is conducted. You must then contact the shift supervisor of the requested shift and he or she will assist you. Ride-A-Long Application
