A heavy rain event across Southern OK into west central AR.
A Flash Flood Watch was issued early this morning generally along and south of a McAlester-Stigler-Ft Smith line. This watch will likely be adjusted slightly northward (into McIntosh and Sequoyah Counties) as well as eastward into west central Arkansas this afternoon or tonight. We are generally looking for from two to four inches of rain across the watch area with some areas in Sern OK likely receiving as much as about 7 inches of rain before it ends on Friday. Here is our latest max rainfall forecast from our Decision Support Page, which can be looked at as a worst-case scenario number or what may locally fall across the area.
